firenze poetry thessa limfilipina writer farewell pass away

The clouds are dark, heavy

The wind cold and strong

Tall palms are blown, bent

Their leaves helpless to the flurry

Suddenly the clouds break

And the rain pours

The sand splatters loose, puddles form

And waves begin to crash on the shore

Yet we brave the waters

Straight ahead we stare

Helpless as the palms, we stare

For someone we love has left for that special place

Where the sun shines steadily

And the wind is friendly

Where the rain can fall but only gently

Where there never is any wanting

We stare ahead with thoughts of you

Hoping to see that smile

To know that you have reached safely
